Pattaya work trip

Hiyo my dear friends. Hope you all have been well during my absence. Thanks for dropping by despite there’s no entries for these few days. =P Yup I’m back. It has been a super tiring but great work trip. I really gained alot in every aspect and thanks to my great colleagues and managers who were the organizers. =) Thanks to the colleagues who organized the team bonding games too!

I’m still pretty shag now and I dont have the intention to clearly blog about the whole trip since 90% was work, pretty sensitive. I dont have pictures to share too because we were rushing for almost the whole trip including meals, shopping etc. The main reason was mainly because I was looking all cui and scary because I hardly had any makeup on la. Arlo, when you’re so damn tired with a meeting which lasted for more than 12 hours, you wont really care about how you look liao lah. Haha. Of course many of my colleagues still looked as fresh and pretty as ever. =) Do pardon my unsporting-ness for trying my best to avoid all the flashes. =P Paiseh neh~

Some highlights of our Pattaya trip will be we went to their zoo where we watched cute pig’s races, fun elephants show, thrilling tiger and crocodile shows which held us in suspense. While watching the tiger and crocodile shows, I was feeling soOooOo…mixed up. On one hand, I was very impressed with the trainers and very entertained. On the other hand, I was hoping such performances to lure tourists can be stopped as they’re very dangerous and high-risk. Number game okie…you wont know when the animals will ki siao, right or not? And we probably can guess the trainers dont earn much too. All we can do were to merely give more tips as a token of appreciation.

Many of my colleagues fed the baby tigers with milk in bottles and were caught on photos. They were SO CUTE! The pictures were prompt, sharp and vibrant too. I meant to do it too, but sorry ah, 洁癖 ah… =P We visited the zoo right away after touched down from Tiger Airways and we didnt have ANY sleep at all since we left home at 3+am. You can just imagine how “seh” we were.

We had little time to do shopping, merely a few hours after our free-and-easy dinner. The dinner was absolutely uber delicious!!! Thanks to Angie dear for the treat!!! Erm, sorry I cant share the name of the restaurant because we simply gorged on the food when it arrived. I only bought a t-shirt, shorts and a dress and I’m already the “champion” liao. The others almost bought nothing. We did however, lugged lots of beer from 7-11 back to our hotel to drink. =) Thanks to Alice who treated us to beer too!! The beer were so damn cheap, each bottle was like S$1+. Soft drinks and juices cost much more.

By the way, we loved our second hotel. It’s Nova Platinum! It’s a very new hotel with luxurious pools, jacuzzi and very lovely rooms. Very modern design which you’ll like. =) No tubs though. We didnt have time to soak in the jacuzzi(now you believe we really dont have much time eh) which is a regret. =P One note though, the room service food werent very nice, despite being cheap and all. So you probably can skip that. It’s located in town. When we’re out of the hotel, we merely turned left and walked all the way. There, you’ll find the very nice restaurant/cafe which served yummilicious food which I’ve mentioned. Cum veryyyy little shopping. We walked so much until we had to cab back. But cheap cheap, 150baht only.

On the other hand, the guys entertained themselves in pubs with drinks with lots of “ice-cream” on the eyes. I’m glad my boy came clean everything with me without me asking. Aiya, as if he can do anything when I’m there on the trip. HAHA. Actually I also wont ask one lah, but I’m really quite shocked when he told me the girls(not ah gua) were totally naked in the bar. =X And what they did were merely paying for a beer which costs around 60+baht, which is like S$3+ only! Of course, if you want more services, you’ll have to pay more. Can see so many hum sup ang mors at Pattaya. =P

We also enjoyed 1hour free massage as sponsored by boss, tank Q very much! As well as visiting the gems huge mall there. It’s really interesting when they shared knowledge on the semi-precious stones as well as every birth stone. Few bought I guess, wary of the cut-throat prices. I was actually kind of attracted to the south china sea pearls. They were probably the only stuff there which was cheaper than in Singapore, for the same sizes. They cost around S$8K or so while I saw them being sold in Lee Hwa for 5 digit figure. Dearie wanted to buy for me when I mentioned casually that they’re cheaper by few thousand. I was pleasantly surprised, however it’s totally not my style to wear like a S$8K pearl on my chest. I was thinking, “siao!” Hahaha! We’re not the uber rich and can definitely can use the money for better use. =) Aren’t you glad you got a nice wifey like me dear? Muahahahahaha. Moreover, they didnt have the the brilliant yellowish-gold, gorgeous south china sea pearl like what was featured in the HK drama, 掌上明珠. =P It was after that show that I grew so crazy with pearls. Haha!

The whole trip ended with a bang when our last stop fell on a shop which sells yummy and cheap goodies like pokie, pineapple tarts, snacks etc. We’re grabbing everything off the shelves like some ah siao because it’s like the only place we can buy stuff with our baht! We tried hard to spend all our baht away but still left quite alot. Nevermind la~=)

Okie, I go zZz liao~ Super sleepy! Update more soon. Ciaoz!

Miss ya all~ Smuacks~

Bangkok trip

Just back from a 4days 3nights bangkok business trip. Well, half work half pleasure actually. It was fun and beneficial. A pity that dear was unable to go due to reservist.

If I didnt remember wrongly, it was my 3rd time there? Or 2nd? Dont quite remember. Before yesterday, I always wonder about Bangkok’s magic with our dear fellow girlies as they’re always so excited with shopping there. Because from my past experiences, I did not enjoy shopping there, mostly because their stuff are not my type.

I was wrong. It’s just because I’ve been shopping at the WRONG places. Where all they got are skimpy, sleazy dresses which make you look slutty. I’ve always think I already look slutty enough(Grrrr Why?? Sigh) so nope, wont buy those clothing. Other than slutty dresses, I usually see t-shirts and fake Adidas/Nike sports attire, which again, are not my type. I do wear them when I’m going downstairs or supper lah but not enough to make me go crazy over them.

Yesterday Ir and her thai friends brought me to Chatuchak and Platinum mall. It was heaven. I regretted not changing more Baht. I thought $400 was enough for 1 and a half day shopping but I was wrong. =( Technically speaking, I only got 1 day shopping because I got so sick after the 2nd day that I went back hotel to sleep at 10pm. =(

I already had high fever on the 1st day of arrival but I managed to endure and grab few hours of shopping with my enthu colleagues. But I collapsed the next day(2nd day) after the 14hours seminar with the fever charging back on full force, despite the panadols. It(fever) bought 2 more friends with her too, sorethroat and cough. It was awful for me. =( I managed to find a pharmacy later on to buy medicine but they wont work. Sigh. But I couldnt possibly go back to rest again, else my whole trip will be gone. So I held on to join in the shopping. It was physically challenging..especially when my shopping buys got heavier by the minute. I had to rest for 10minutes for every hour of shopping.

Thank god we girls actually split up for our shopping and then met at 1 spot at the desired timing. I hate to hold anyone up. It’s more efficient and time saving this way too. =)

Dearie came to fetch me back and immediately, I went to grab a doctor. It was past midnight already so the bill came up to $100. Sigh. I knew it’s going to be expensive but I knew I really need the medication. Because my head felt like cracking up and my throat…I cant speak. It’s quite impossible for me to sleep. The medicine really works wonder, my 1st visit to this 24hours clinic doctor. I felt so much better in an hour after taking the medicine.

Just packed my luggage today and my heart turned over when I saw my buys.

“Why did I got sick when I’m there?” Sigh.

It’s the 1st time I bought so many tops with sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves. Because they are so nice. On the contrary, most of the sleeveless tops and spag tops all seemed slutty and cheapo, so I didnt buy much. No shoes at all, because, as usual, they dont have my size. *Sad* They have awesome shoes! Also bought some household deco stuff, Vic’s milk bones and shoes, some tops and bottoms for dearie, hair accessories, nighties, toiletries, scrubs etc. Oh I bought an extra small luggage to contain my stuff too, only S$20.

Anyway, I really regretted packing my luggage shabbily. I really got no time. I thought it doesnt matter since it’s only 4 days. But no, luggage is very important, it will really affect your whole trip experience. For example, I only brought along flu tablets and lozenges when in fact, I should bring along panadols for fever/bodyaches and cough mixture. I should have emptied my stuff into a LIGHTER bag for easier shopping. I remembered to bring camera but forgot to double check the memory stick was inside. Thus I cant take pictures. I brought my hp and charger but forgot to bring universal plug, thus I cant charge. I brought too few bottoms too. Argghh, I’m a total wreck.

Lesson learnt: Do not pack your luggage shabbily.

On the whole, I still enjoy my trip. =)

一种米养百样人

Sometimes I’m so fucking pissed with “their” customer services. The moment they know they’re speaking to their agents instead of customers, their tones/faces changes as fast as lightning and as different as day and night. What the fcuk? I’m ALSO your policyholders lor. I owned more than a dozen policies. I’m ALSO your customer lor! I dont see why they have to give me that sort of attitude when I’m polite all the way. Until I’m riled, that is.

And I’m so disgusted with some of the agents. Once I called wrongly into the marketing product line, wanting to know some stuff about a particular product, the guy who was at the other end of the phone was so polite UNTIL he knows I’m the agent. Guess what, he said “I also dont know lor. You got to check it out yourself. I’m also an agent.”

Then I realised that number is for the LEAD’S department, where agents give tele customer service to gain leads.

But also no need to be so rude to own company staff right?

Dearie is in the LEAD’S department too and sometimes he heard worse. Like, “GO check it out yourself lah! Dont you know this number is for customers only and not agents. I’m also an agent, dont waste my time!” and cupped the phone.

*shake head* Sometimes, some of this people are actually top sales. Sometimes they really make me sick and feel like puking.

I finished with a sarcastic tone to that guy named PATRICK that he better check it out himself too, otherwise when customers called this hotline and he everything also dont know then it reflects soOooo badly on the company. But again, he might be be the fool as he looks and might be hiding from me because he just dont wish to do me a favor and wants me to check it out myself.

I feel “their” agents really come from all sorts of family background as well as all sorts of upbringing. Some of them can bang table infront of the underwriter or yell at them. Some can be so kiasu to come out from the seminar earlier so that can have the buffet faster without having to queue much. Otherwise, some can even jump queue just infront of you without batting an eyelid.

And I guess it’s this long-term tension between such agents and customer service which further make the relationship between every agent and customer service officer sour.

Like;

rude agent give attitude to CS –> CS buay song and frustrated –> CS give attitude to nice agents –> Nice agents became riled and slowly became more assertive/rude.

And the cycle repeats.

I dont like making friends from other agencies because they always pester me about how we do our sales and how we got our leads. Dont they know all this are business and we’re not supposed to reveal because my brilliant manager wouldnt be that dump not to put it in the contract?

And when I do give sommmmeee little humble advices, I encounter jeering laughter and rolling eyes.

“huh? You went all the way to XXX just to close a $10,000 fixed deposit/medisave-approved shield plans? Lol. Enough to cover transport lah but left peanuts. What for?”

Sometimes they dont understand it’s not the money. It’s because you want your client to have the coverage or you just dont want them to put it elsewhere because you believe they can earn more interest in your safe hands.

OR

“huh? They buy 1 or 2 policies only, you also do a policy summary for them? Is it necessary or not?”

If whole family only 1 simple A&H plan which doesnt fetch cash values no matter how long you pay, then perhaps no need lah. But if the whole family got 2 or 3 or more policies…well it’s better if there’s a summary so that they know what they got and also, it’s lesser chance that they misplaced the policies.

I dont know how their agencies educate them lah. But they expect money will just drop from the sky without effort.

Ya. It definitely will, or sort of, when you reached director level and have clientele of more than a thousand or so. Then when your base is big enough then clients will CALL you and “order” from you.

So stop hounding me for new or more closing strategies if you’re so lazy to even do the basic services already.

Of course not all “their” agents are like that. Some still work for the passion and not for the money. There’s no need to deliberately show, the attitude just exudes.

Effort=rewards

I’m really pretty sick yesterday. Besides sorethroat and cough, a new member joined; Miss Running Nose. I was sneezing like mad when I was talking to 2 friends cum clients. It ended as late as midnight where I rushed to meet Eil at Yewtee to return her the uniforms which I loaned from her for the stupid, disgusting buffet at M hotel. Upon reaching Xinwang HK cafe, I digged into my dinner-cum-supper; century egg congee and dian xin, har gao(prawn dumpling) because I was so damn hungry.

Rain, that’s why replied you late.

Sigh Really felt like dying yesterday. I haven been this sick for very long though minor illness still bothers me time to time. Heard many people said having mirrors reflecting the bed is not a good thing. Will affect health bla bla. Hopefully the fengshui audit on Monday can improve all this. Though I know my own maintenance of health is also important lah.

I almost bought a dress from SL’s blogshop, http://ilovebeingreal.wordpress.com/. But because Dressy hounds is only available in 1 piece and it has been taken. =( Nevermind, I’ll wait for the 2nd collection which will be coming in end Jun or early July. I will show my support de!

SL is very sweet to offer me discount on my purchase but I declined. Duhz, give me discount then she earn what right? Nono. She definitely deserve all those earnings as she has taken effort to contact supplier and hire photographer at a cost to take nice, bright pictures by modeling the clothes herself so that they’re true to pictures. And also the set-up of her blog which obviously took alot of time and effort.

On a side note, I also dislike friends who bargain for rebates when they buy policies from friends who are their agents or try to negotiate for free gifts. I mean, it’s so unglam. Most of the time, I will give a treat, dinner or lunch in appreciation for friends’ business. You dont have to ask, I will auto one. In some way or other, I will express my gratitude and appreciation but it’s not in the way of rebates. Not many people know that is actually illegal in our line of business. YES. Giving rebates to solicit business is ILLEGAL in the insurance industry.

I think somehow these kind of people just exists, especially in Singapore. But fortunately, dearie and I dont have alot of these friends.

Back to topic about blogshops. Some people merely ordered them from other taiwan websites, plucked THEIR pictures, plucked THEIR dimensions and simply put a BIGGER price tag on their blog and attempt to sell away at a much higher profit. To each his own la but I’m really not a fan of such blogshops. Because most of the times, products are not true to their highly-processed pictures.

I truly feel SL deserves what she’s getting. Her prices are very reasonable so I also hope whoever is buying from her dont expect discount just because they’re her friends. I know the feeling, so well. Especially when I feel effort is equivalent to rewards. We did put in effort(see my sorethroat and you’ll know. =P) We deserves it. =)

Super long deep thoughts entry

Everyone is so busy so much so that they hardly update their blogs anymore. I love reading my friends’ blogs, at least I know how they’re doing. =) Though of course I’m also not that free to read everyday..but I’ll read once every few days if I can manage.

Last time I can spend like 1 or 2 hours to play some Viwawa games everyday. Nowadays, I’m so busy that I hardly play anymore. As time goes by, the routine habit which I thought I had(to play at least 1 hour everyday) disintegrates. I think it has been more than 1 or 2months. Now, I do play when I’m have some time to spare, but it’s totally flexible. I can play 15minutes and then stop abruptly. It doesnt seem like a habit(to play at least an hour) which I cant kick already. And I’m very pleased with that.

There was a saying, if you repeatedly do or dont do something out of your normal routine for consecutively 29 days, it will make a difference or an impact after that.

Say, you always love to drink coke.
Then you can challenge yourself by NOT drinking coke for 29 days consecutively.

Say, you hate taking the stairs.
Then you can challenge yourself by taking the stairs for 29 days consecutively.

For the former, I guess your sugar level will definitely drop(provided you dont drink other soft drinks la). For the latter, your fitness level will definitely improve.

I’ll love a fitter body but as yet, I’m not that brave to take up the challenge. Lol. Hmm it’s definitely more sustainable and supportive if you have a buddy to do it with you. Even if that means both of you challenge yourselves with different things. That’ll be fun. =)

We had seen our photoshoot pictures. I told dearie to look forward with an open mind. It might not be as bad as it looks. True lah..it’s not as bad…but I really have alot of stuff which needs the help of photoshop. I look so f*cking plump. While viewing the pictures, I have to control myself not to straight away DELETE them from the folder when I found them to be too ugly.

I dont know why, despite the make-up looked okie after it’s drawn, it looked horrible in the pictures. And it got worse thereafter when it melted. So weird because my face actually looked very tan inside the pictures. I dont think I’m that tan right? The most amazing thing is, I asked dearie to look at my studio pictures; my hands are so much fairer than my face until they looked as if they dont belong to me. How can that be possible lah.

I discussed the makeup with Jy before, about how the MUAs were unable to elaborate my eyes like how I did myself. She said it’s most probably only the liner and fake eyelashes application. I can do them myself then let them take over to apply the eye-shadow as they’re still better at blending. I decided to do just that.

But now looking at the horrible makeup which appeared in the pictures, I think I’ll prefer Sally(my ROM MUA) to Miki(photoshoot MUA) as my MUA on my actual day. I know I very fussy lah..but bo bian, who ask me to be no where near 天生丽质。 =P Though I definitely prefer Miki in person because she’s a nicer and easy-to-talk-to lady. But Sally does give a better foundation finish, which is the most important part of a makeup. Haiz…kinda fan.

Original package comes with 28 pages 32 poses(pictures). Per additional pose is $50. But if add another album, will be $70 per page with additional pose $50 each. We topped up 35pictures more to 65. They gave us a discounted price of $1500, which is like 3 poses free. The photographer see until she cant take it liao when I keep delete and delete. Cut costs mah. She literally beg me not to delete because she said too few pictures album will not be nice as ours is digital-design. Damn funny lah. Though I doubt so lah, must be because of the commission. =P

We ultimately took up more pictures is not because I feel they’re fantastic OK. It’s merely because I had 5 different gowns in different backdrops and venues. Dammit. It really makes it more difficult to choose because per gown at every venue need at least 4 pictures to do a proper digital-designed page, in my opinion. At least can blend properly. We still have to go back and see the photoshopped pictures before they will design the album. Sigh..fingers crossed ah…please make me slimmer and fairer. I’m really not that tan leh..

I also requested for a 3piece suit for dearie to wear that day especially when his photoshoot didnt even have a vest to go with. We bought a greyish silver vest to match. I bought him that because it’s too short notice to request from NewImage. I know their limitations as a newly opened company.

However, our actual day is in AUG, still got 3months plus. I will want him to have a formal white vest to match his white suit on the actual wedding day. I told Capio directly I saw all grooms have 3 piece suits and it’s high time they have it no matter how new they are. And main reason is, in our office, everyone wear suits and ties and mostly with blazer. If they’re going to make my darling wear only a 2 piece suit, then it’s no difference from his attire in the office or when he meet clients lor! Stupid right?

I mentioned before she’s real good at EQ but this time round she gave me quite a silly reason to counter. She said most of her clients’ prefer not to have the vest. They prefer the simple 2 piece ones instead(shirt with tie, then blazer). ZzZz. I bet the grooms dont know what they’re missing as guys usually dont care mah. And most brides only care for their own gowns and not the groom.

Then she said, we should request if we want anything “extra” and she will try to accommodate. HAHA. I dont think it’s anything extra at all, not as if we request a tuxedo or anything. A 3 piece suit is the bare minimum, it’s the basic lor please. But she’s like that lah. Everytime when I get more direct, she will become very defensive with a monotone voice.

Scary lah this type of people because underneath you dont know what they’re thinking. They might be smiling at you but thinking of stabbing you. I dont lor, not even towards my clients. If I care about you means I really do. Some took me for granted, and I will speak up one. I will try to meet you according to the timing you desire, but hor, dont think because you’re the client then you can anyhow put me aeroplane and last minute change timing and expect me to teleport over. Once or twice nevermind, more than twice, then is too much right.

You busy, I’m also busy OK.

(Entry from this point onwards is about work, please skip if it might bore you or offend you in any way. =) )

But frankly speaking, some people are really quite..you cant be “soft soft” with them. They dont buy it one(不吃这套。). They dont seem to understand the importance of insurance. Then they thought you “soft soft” with them is because you want their sales when in fact you’re just being nice. Eventually when things(illness) happened, then they call you and cry. What can I do right? I can only claim for you, but that is provided you took up the plan mah. You didnt buy the one I recommended, you cry 3 days 3 nights I also cant help lor. So sometimes, I prefer the “hard” approach..hahaha.

Indeed this job is tough. It’s a thin line between being ethical and unscrupulous. But after being in this line for so long, earnings come secondary to being a life planner whom clients trusted and depended upon. Nothing cheers me more when a client called to inform they got a new job and has more budget for planning, so that I can plan for them according to the shortfall during the last review. Nothing cheers me more when clients ask for advise to invest in which funds, buy which product or put how much is better. =DDD

Sometimes it’s pretty funny. I had a client who is pretty young, as young as my brother, only 22 this year. But he’s very mature, saves alot and has great foresight and planning. Seriously, I seldom see such guys around in Sg, moreover in 1 so young. He’s the eldest in his family of 4 brothers. Really, I realised usually the eldest will plan more for themselves and usually are more mature than their peers because of their responsibility towards younger siblings since young. By the way, eldest doesnt refer to the only sons/daughters okie. =P

I’m more impressed with this client of mine when he’s actually half working and half studying ON TOP of supporting his brother financially and spiritually(by tutoring personally) to study poly all the way from a N’ level student. His dad doesnt support the family at all….he’s never at home. I’m not sure about mum but heard she’s always sick… Strangely all the 4 brothers dont like to talk about their parents..

And everytime he wants to top up his policies(he will call me)…even when the factfind seems ok..I will hesitate and ask, “you got enough to use or not?”

“Got lah dont worry”

“but your job now is part time only right? You haven graduate leh.”

“dont worry lah. Aiyoh you very losoh leh. I can pay yearly too.”

zzzZzzZz.

He definitely didnt win toto nor gamble. He just did lots of part-time job. But I didnt really see him scrimp and save actually…even his printer is those big-ass kind..And he told me it’s good quality, got dont know 3-in-1 functions one. =.=

To date..think his policies with me are more than $300 a month, I dont really remember…and he haven even own a permanent job yet. Sad to say, he’s so much well-covered than many old people(who needs more cover) and people who earns more than him(who also need more cover because of higher expenses). Not that I mean not well-covered means not good lah…different people have different priorities. Up to you~

Then hor..sorry I noticed I’m getting too long-winded on this story but it’s really funny. He introduced his brother to me to buy policies too. The one whom he tutored from N’level through ITE then to poly. Amazing rightttt? So this brother is also a poly student who works part-time. Only 17 years old.

You all must understand their parents dont give them pocket money at all. They all supported themselves, family of 4 brothers. Okie then he started low, $100 per month.

But I’m still worried..even after the factfind seems okie. Ultimately, he’s holding part-time job only cum studying at NYP…17years old…

“err…you sure you will have enough to spend?”

“ya”

*I hesitated*

My client(eldest brother) chupped in, “aiya you dont worry about him lah, he got alot of money one.”

=.= After he said that sentence, I saw his brother fished out a iphone.

ZzzZzz.

Okie.

They got another brother now serving NS, also bought policies from me too. The youngest brother didnt buy because too young le, think 14 or 15. And the 3 brothers who bought, has never experienced unsuccessful giro deductions.

I really feel it’s very amazing leh!!! Why my brother not like them?? Haizzzzz!!!

Some clients, I can easily sell them savings plans because they’re SO INTO SAVINGS. Aunties love savings. But when I look over all their policies, I noticed they dont have adequate insurance coverage against illness, hospitalization and surgeries. I dissuaded them to take the savings, but to take the critical illness cover instead.

So ultimately they dont wan to buy(the critical illness policy) lah, or some took up BUT lapsed the policies after sometime. So who lugi? I will say both of us lor. Because of pointing out what they need to buy instead of easily giving what they like to buy, I missed my sales or my PR ratio suffers. And suay suay 1 among this group of people contracted cancer. Can claim for cancer? Cannot lor. Only claimed death claim. And actually savings policies give higher commission than critical illness plan lor. Sometimes feel I’m so god-damn stupiddddd lah…sometimes it really doesnt pay to be kind lah.

But I agree I’m aggressive. No special reason, just that when I feel strongly about my opinions, I tend to get real focused and head-on directly on the point. I sound stricter and more formal. But of course if you give me a valid reason, or whatever reason, so long so it’s real, I can accept. Even reasons like “I hate Great Eastern, will never buy products from them.” works too. But dont give me crap excuses, sometimes really cant stomach.

I realised nowadays many people dont hold their promises. Of course what’s a mere promise to a life planner. But then I realised some of them are friends instead. Ouch, that hurts. Then I suddenly realised…actually alot of things, I dont have to live my life the hard way. I’m really too prim and proper liao, too straight.

Fion,
it doesnt harm much to break your promises once in awhile to friends since they also break theirs now and then to you.

It doesnt harm much to contribute lesser to the family especially when all people around seemed to contribute lesser, you dopey.

It doesnt harm much to let your SO pay for alittle more things…sometimes.

HAHAHA.

I’m so bad.

But really…comparison really makes you see alot of things…Though many things are real subjective and qualitative instead of quantitative…but really…..I think once in a while, you need to compare with the ton..or the “market”…then you know where you stand….

Like how you know whether a bf is mis-treating you by his actions? Simple..you always tell your close friends and ask whether their bf’s are like that right?

That’s comparison. And majority wins. Majority always wins. And the ultimate phrase which always come out is, “all guys are the same.”

It often marks the end of tons of complaints from a gang of girls.
Does anyone understand how I’m feeling and what I’m trying to say……..

Haiz……….

Happy & Sad stuff…

I have happy things as well as sad things to blog. Haiz!

世事岂能尽人意?

I shall blog about the happy stuff first.

Finally met up with my long-time-no-see NP-ACC mates. I was excited even prior to meeting them because so many stuff were already running through my mind. Like, have they changed much, until I cant recognise them? Will we have stuff to chat after years of absence? Will there be an awkward moment? God No. We couldnt stop yakking away the moment we met and we’re so excited tossing questions at each other enthusiastically about how we all have been. I’m really ecstatic to see them. =) There were 6 of us, namely Li, Jan, Hm, Pau, JS and me.

The one with the most updates will be Jan because not only has she got married, her first baby born son Sky is also turning 1 year old soon! Too bad I dont have pictures of her darling. Anyway I will much prefer to see the real-good-thing when I visit her at her home soon.

She regaled us with her horrifying pregnancy which scared all of us(childless lot) into muted bewilderment. First, it was the 10hours which she spent lying on the bed, for trying un-successfully to give birth. That’s why she said her bill came up to $8K plus at Mt Alvernia because the doctor induced birth. Secondly, despite the 10hours, it was still unsuccessful and she has to do cesarean. Thirdly, she was given anaesthetic for the lower body only and suffered massive side-effects by vomiting non-stop after that. Fourthly, because of her vomiting, she has to be on the drip for few days after her pregnancy….Guess what…after more than 10hours of labour and cant eat anything! Fifthly, she suffered a minor depression when she was having her 1month confinement.

GIVING BIRTH IS SCARY!~!

We had our dinner at Raffles City, The Asian Kitchen, followed by chilling at Gloria Jeans Coffee. I had so much laughs during those moments. They also asked how’s my wedding preparations coming up, the costs about wedding la, housing arrangement and we discussed about the common topics like MIL relationships and household expenses arrangement etc. Jan and Pau really damn funny lah! Hahaha! But I probably cant blog down what’s SO FUNNY because *ahem*…in case my sensitive husband got “jumpy” again.

Initially, JS was late. And I was kidding it must be because he’s busy buying flowers for Li. It turned out true! When he presented a small bouquet of sunflower to the charmingly embarrassed Li, the WHOLE group laughed like nobody’s business. Hahaha! They said I can be fortune teller liao. Muahahaha.

Actually no lah, JS has always being the romantic gentleman in our class. And to our class bella Li who will be going away for 3 years, it’s no doubt he will go to such great lengths. =) Oh We also have to thank him for picking the tab. I think quite a huge tab for the amount we’ve eaten. Despite how I teased him that he dont have to treat us other than the lady-in-honour, he still refused to accept our monies. Oh well Thanks! Seriously, he’s a real 体贴 guy. When the few of us remarked our Ice Chocolate wasnt sweet enough, he immediately went and get chocolate powder and chocolate fudge for us. How I wish my hubby can be more 体贴. =P

But he left shortly after we settled at Gloria Jeans. Probably because all our topics revolved around females stuff. When Pau asked me what were the side-effects of me consuming the slimming pills back then before my ROM, I said out loud, “前面没有掉lor!(breasts shrunk!)”. Upon seeing JS’s constipated face trying to control not to laugh, then I realised, “opps, please pretend you didnt hear that”. Haha. But rather than giving Pau the wrong impression that the effects are permanent, I told her after I started eating like a cow immediately after my ROM, along with the weight, back comes the breasts. LOL. Yeah. So it’s still fine lah. Muahahaha.

Yeah. I will try to organize more outings in future if possible between the few of us. I just know Hm and Pau all worked in Raffles Place like me too. Jan, however, is a housewife cum part-time student. I urged Pau and Hm to get facebook too since Li probably cant join us for a long long time already. Haiz. She’s flying coming sunday.

So anyway, got to get my ass up to upload the pictures we took at Asian Kitchen, along with the few with Kel, Jy which I’m lazy to post earlier on.

And this picture Li closed her eyes. ZzZ have to be fair to both huh by posting both.

Hmmm…..suddenly feel my chin is very sharp…..=X

The 2 cute mummies

Ah…..gross…I must start practicing how to smile naturally already for the upcoming shoot….gosh…my smile looked so spastic and constipated. Damn gross lor! =X

Okie…now for the slightly gloomier stuff.

Haiz. Despite how I favor HSBC bank services, heard they’re not doing so well too. Think CITI bank is worse situation. It seems OCBC bank is the more sound and solvent among the local banks. Hopefully all pulls through, as I heard Jan’s hubby is working in CITI Bank as a banker. Jan is not working and they just got a baby. Haiz. Hope all are well lah, including myself.

And………I got another claim to settle already. Death claim. Sigh. =(

Cause?

Cancer.

Haiz…….please…..get yourselves covered, sufficently. Recession or no recession, catastrophes dont struck by seasons or weather. And for god’s sake, if you own a car, please get at least a decent coverage for yourself. Because it makes no sense that your car got covered for more than you! You’re definitely worth more isnt it?

Hongkong/Macau goalsetting trip

I’m still so deadbeat after much sleep. =.= This Macau/Hongkong trip is like the most tiring trip out of all the traveling I ever had because everything was so rushed. Goalsetting has always been tiring but this was by far the most tiring. It was very very cold, around 10degrees. As the tickets were booked by my company people, and because the main purpose of the trip was for our goalsetting, the itinerary was not to our wishes except for some own-leisure hours. Everything was arranged, we just had to follow, even after goalsetting has ended.

I’m deadbeat even after I’m back was because apart from unpacking our huge luggage, Vickki had a bruise-like bleeding wound on her head. And because appointments were full at the vet at holland V, we had to rush her to the vet at Vivo city. Apparently the bleeding was caused by her own scratching due to the rashes. The vet prescribed some medicine to wash her wound and apply, what’s most important was the booster collar which she has to wear around her neck. It looks like a speaker kinda thing surrounding her head so that she’s unable to scratch her head as well as preventing her from licking the medication cream.

Right after Vickki was settled, Dearie suddenly suffered a major intense pain in his lower back. Sigh. It was so bad till he has trouble walking. I experienced that before, it’s really damn painful. Fortunately I still had 2 tubes of pain relieving cream for muscle pains from the last episode(apparently I see 2 doctors and both gave me cream to relieve pain only.) I even sticked on the Tiger Plaster for him on his lower back. He got better today but nevertheless we went to see doctor. The doctor gave him painkillers and more plasters. =.= As you know, while he’s having this backpain, I am his maid through and through, SO I’M VERY TIRED!! The worse thing is I’m also having migraine I think, for this headache pestered me since the last day at HK till now for many many hours. Sigh.

The trip was very fun just that I’m not really in the mood to write now as I’m still having the headache.

Itinerary
Day 1: Macau
After checked in to Casa Real hotel for 20minutes, our team bonding game started, i.e, THE AMAZING RACE.

It was loads of fun. We were divided into groups. My group consisted of Kel, his gf QQ, Dav, Shen, Jeff and Angi. It’s the first time I got to know Kel’s gf QQ. She’s such a sweet, gorgeous and accommodating lady. We are the SPEEDY RHINOS.

Our group leader was Dav and the game organizer were EC and Pat. The game required us to go to these 4(choose 4 out of the 5 picked) destinations and per destination we need to choose 4 out of the 5 activities stated within that location, e.g, eat icecream or eat eggtarts or visit the temple etc. Every team member must be present to do the activities and our picture must be taken together with our team banner at the exact location. Order of the destinations has also been prefixed and we must travel according to the order. The 5 hours has been super tiring but fruitful for the places we visited were the places of interest like Senado Square议事亭前地(邮政总局, 柠檬车露icecream, 文化会馆), St Paul大三巴(信诚港澳西装城, Sandwich Expert, 大三巴牌坊, 哪咤庙), Stop:Praia Manduco下环(Macau发源地, 下环街市, 礼品庄, Macau tower->Edison百万 Bungy Jump). The icecream and eggtarts we ate were famous as well as delicious. Some pictures.

As the powerpoint was done with my laptop, the pictures were already in the laptop so it’s easy to post them. I’m too lazy to post those pictures in my camera. =P I looked damn tired and cui in the pictures because I was without makeup. Anyway, this trip we took very few pictures other than the compulsory ones, because we were simply too tiring and too rush already.

We only finished 3 out of 4 destinations though, not enough time and we were too tired to carry on too. 5 hours OK!! The last destination was also very out of the way. Thank god cabbing were easy and cheap in Macau, even then, we walked quite a fair bit. Heng I’m not vain enough to wear high heels like Eil. Keke. Else I will just DIE with all the uphill and downhill slopes. Only 1 group finished all the destinations but even they didnt get champion because the judges said it depended on how our powerpoint slides of our pictures, the whole teamwork, the presentation bla bla. Nahz anyhow, I’m just glad we enjoyed the game lah.

After the game, some of them went ZHu hai for some shopping. But dearie and me surrendered. Simply cant walk anymore. We settled with some of our colleagues for a simple dinner nearby, damn also around 20minutes of walk although the hotel staff say “it’s so near, just walk straight.” Asshole. I feel the food are so-so.

And anyway, was told by colleagues who went Zhu Hai they didnt buy much at all because only 1 hour shopping only after their dinner there as the transport alone took around 1hour already. And they needed to be back by 11pm to do the powerpoint slides for the teambonding game next morning.

Day 2: Macau, Goal setting day
8am to 10.30pm Goal set
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!
14.5 hours!!!!!!!!!!
Including 2 teabreaks of 20minutes and a 45minutes dinner only!
After that we went Venetian Casino as I’ve never been a real big ass casino before. The small tiny one at Vietnam not counted.

Venetian is really HUGE and glamorous. I think it consists of a few football fields, the buildings were a beautiful pastal shades of soft colours, designed like a fairytale castle. Most of the buildings in Macau surprisingly looked colonial. How good if I can have my photoshoot there. There are lots of 5 storey high highway bridges in Macau. Looked pretty scary to me as I’m afraid the bus can just fall off the bridge. Ya lah I think too much.

Hmm the casino has lots of gambling stalls, we dont understand most of them. So we only settled at the easiest-to-play stall, and that is, Big VS Small, Da4 Xiao3. To sum up, I lost $100+ while dearie won $200+. I very suay lah. =( We gambled at the same stall, can you imagine? The stall has a very pretty predictable pattern but everytime I bet, it went haywire. Even the host will look at me as if I’ve saved her from losses, before that she was looking green. After the 3rd loss, I gave up. Instead, I asked dearie to bet instead, big or small, or the total points(it came out 8 for a few times) or a particular dice(e.g, number 1 will come out). And he won alot, though after that when we thought about it, we should double our bet everytime we won. Nevermind la, got win can liao.

Day 3: Hongkong, Causeway Bay
After ferry to Hongkong and checking in Metropark Mongkok hotel, we went to have lunch. It’s was such a good one at a restaurant which serves a 8 course dinner or so. Got suckling pig, roast goose(shao1 er2), fried prawns-on-bread, roast chicken, stir fry dou miao. It’s all very yummy, got standard! Then we went Causeway Bay for shopping shopping shopping. As I’ve been to Jian1 Sha1 Zui3 before, I chose to go Causeway Bay to shop instead.
After that we went The Peak, namely Victoria Peak by the tram for dinner with all. The view was very nice though I’ve seen the day look before. We ate at an Italian restaurant called Simpatico. With soup, half spring chicken. Pretty yummy.
After the dinner, we went Lan Kwai Fong. Finally saw how Lan Kwai Fong is like because I didnt see it the last time I was there. Nothing much lah, except the crowd was pretty wild. Deco was very nice but each pub was very small in area. Pretty happening.

Last Day 4: Hongkong, Hua Yuan Street
We were so tired the night before after drinks, running about in the various pubs with different groups of colleagues, dancing and playing of games, that we only woke up at 12+noon. OMG. Quickly went out to our last minute shopping at nearby Hua Yuan Street and managed to get some stuff. Only a few hours time before we need to go back hotel and prepare to leave. Flight was delayed for around 2 hours and we spend those hours in the airport shopping and buying even more stuff. Our luggage weight were maxed out. But I still feel we bought too little things. Sad. =P

As for what I bought, hmmm….majority are foodstuff, DHC, SASA stuff. Of course boots..they’re too nice and cheap to resist…not much clothings as most are winter wear. Erm I really feel I buy too little stuff, machiam no buy at all. =( Pictures? You will see them when I wear them then, during new year. Hee.

Okie I’m tired and that’s my rojak post.

Better than nothing right.
