Tea Cosy is one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore. Not only does it serves great and affordable foie gras, their service is great. Not to mention, every dish on their menu is so exquisitely made. You can see their efforts. Located at Plaza Sing, the storey where SpotLight is situated. Level 5 I think.

I feel I can never get sick of it. Haha. Frankly speaking, I prefer their foie gras than The French Kitchen’s. No offence to the chef, merely because I prefer Tea Cosy’s way of preparing the foie gras. It’s paired with apricot chutney and sweet baby mandarin oranges and it made the dish zesty and refreshing. Plus, there are some wasabi sauce as well, which werent too spicy and it’s such a punch on the taste buds.

Dearie had braised duck pasta which was also good(I tried before) but as I had a small tiff with him at that moment, I didnt bother to talk to him nor take picture of his food. =P

Went Watson yesterday and was surprised to find DHC sitting on the shelves. Their products were pretty good and somehow they reminded me of Fancl. I bought many stuff from them on my..Hongkong trip I think, like eye gel, lipglosses, pimpel gel and health supplements and they are so cheap. That’s why imagine my horror when I saw the price differences, a jump of 3 times! I remembered I bought the eye gel at below S$15 in Hongkong, imagine it selling at S$42 in Singapore Watson.

I exclaimed loudly to dearie in a fit who tried to calm me down. Even the moisturizer which Li offered to buy for me from Japan is also 1/3 of the price. I understand that they need to profit but also not so much what! Like TheFaceShop, Skinfood, Benefit, they’re grossly overpriced in Sg. If this continues, more people will engage in sprees and shipped them from overseas, just like how people are spreeing from Korea and Taiwan.

It’s the exact same series as the Anti dark-circles eye mask which I recommended here, except the dark eye circles packaging is in pink whilst this is in orange. It was out of stock though.

I dont have eye bags though I feel they’re already on the way. =( They’re getting a little puffy from lack of sleep. So prevention is better than cure!

Some little incident which I feel like mentioning. It happens in the foodcourt when I was queuing for fruits. There were 3 of us in the queue and I was the last. There was this auntie who came by in the opposite direction of the queue, saw us(I saw her bio-ing us) and then proceeded to the front and said she would like to get bla bla bla. The stall auntie gave her a very wary look and asked out loud, “who came first?” At first I was pretty sian, she was serving the 1st customer and the other 2(including me) were right behind all this while, she didnt see meh and have to ask?

Anyway, I said LOUDLY(I meant real loudly), “We came first one.” Then the stupid jump-Q auntie went off in embarrassment and didnt even bother to queue behind me. The young girl infront of me, a student I assumed, turned back and smiled at me, mouthing a “thank you”. I smiled back of course but felt so funny. It’s like…ahhh….

Really buay tahan such people. This group of aunties, obviously not blind but always ACT blind and attempt to jump Q. And they’re not even old nor handicapped nor pregnant, and merely just want to take people’s advantage. She obviously SEEN us and still wanna act blur. Really feel like giving her 1 tight slap, she will be such a bad example to her kids. Hng!

Dearie again tried to calm me down after I regaled the whole tale to him, still huffing. =P

Few days ago was that insect-clubbing place’s anniversary. Dragonfly, I meant. Iv was kind enough to extend the invitation to me. I seldom join the gang for clubbing unless there are occasions. On anniversaries, there will be be performances and free flow so I went.

Seriously, until now I’m still not sure which is which club as they’re so many clubs in St James. I roughly know which is Movida and Dragonfly(and now, Powerhouse) but sometimes I dont even know where I am because they kept move around, especially when I’m SUCH a direction idiot. =.= We were queuing for drinks when I asked Ce where were we so that I can messaged WY. I think the person behind me must have fainted.

Anyway, the freeflow was, serious manz, as in, pretty thick with alcohol, the real thing. I think I’ve never tasted freeflows as thick as the ones for this occasion. The martell green tea and burbon coke. Damn. Even the smell can make me faint. Double-o is a close second in terms of quality for their freeflows. Speaking of which, I haven go there in ages. Reminiscence anyone? Ha.

There were varieties too, as in the different housepours and wines. But as we’re closer to the counter which serves housepour(wines at different counter), we did not have wine for the night. Which was lucky…else I think more people will K.O and some might K.O even earlier. Haha. For the music wise, I was struck dumb when the 1st song cruised into my ears was 被爱的女人 by Coco. Love her, AND her songs. Despite it’s weird listening to sentimental songs in a club, I did enjoy a few classics such as 值得 by Sammi etc. As the night progress, the songs became more retro, like 失恋无罪 etc.

Most of us were merely playing fist games and drinking, or else having girl’s talk since..I dont know…kinda weird dancing to chinese songs. And the highlight of the night would be in the midst of our chat(between me and WY), we suddenly saw a FAT spider-man-like creature hanging in the air on some spider cobweb thingy. Before I can make out WTF is that UFO, that “spider-man” creature suddenly spread his “wings” and starts to FLUTTER them! *pengz* So is he a spider or a butterfly? Or dragonfly? And BEFORE I can come to a conclusion, glittery snowflakes starts to fall like Christmas, machiam 演唱会 like that. Hahaha.

WY and I were laughing so hard that I dont even remember what was the song which was playing. Anyway, when that fat “spider-man” finally “alighted”, he began to strip to his..only…glittery underwear of red and blue. Okie that reminded me of “SUPER MAN” again. This year’s themes is about super heroes eh? Albeit fat ones. He started to sing super super retro songs which I’ll be embarrassed to even admit that I recognized them.

After which, we adjourned to Plush at Boat Quay for more drinks. WY went home as she’s tired and cant drink much as she drove. I was like, “of all days, you choose to drive on a free-flow night?” =.= Ce and Se surrendered and went off too, heard Ce puked few times in the toilet already. I cant believe that because she’s our QUEEN! I’ve never seen her puke before. Okie perhaps because I’m lousy and always passed out before her. HAHA.

I wont say I have ALOT to drink there but the few different types sure makes me high. And I didnt even realised at all….until WY asked out loud when we’re outside the club, infront of soOooo many people, “why are you behaving like a small girl?” OMG, I’m so embarrassed. We hardly club together and she has never seen this side of me…so she was surprised, and I’m of course, embarrassed. I know myself, I will become…kinda…hmm…you know….like a little girl lah..whiny and stuff when I’m high. Wahahaha. Definitely more likable than the usual cool and poised lady. LOL. But I think it’s certified…guys TRULY like whiny girls more. DUhz!

We had beer at Plush. Few more rounds of games and I remembered playing a game of pool. I think I won. Hmm ya. Hahaha Anyway…sigh…I thought I can return home in great condition but….haiz…I puked. 4 times. Thank god dearie not angry with me. =P Oh I tried taking pictures with my phone but they’re either too dark or over-exposed. *shrugged*

And you know the funniest thing was, Ter called me while we were in Plush. When he said he’s still in St James, I was shocked because all of us thought he went home! Obviously he passed out SOMEWHERE at the club and only just awaken! Guess what, he still took a cab down and joined us at Plush. Haha.

Eventually we took cab back together since he stayed Jurong. So long again, till the next club, which wont be coming soon.

Since it’s really all in the name…maybe I should stop..unconsciously blaming his mother for her way of upbringing..I thought she pampered her son too much. *shrugged*

This is the best I’ve used so far and sharing with you guys.

I can only roughly guess the brand is 我的足迹日子 or termed as Medlar Anti dark circle eye mask. The brand is 水感肌-Aqua Sense. I have thrown away the original packaging which is a pretty pink Jap-looking box(picture of packaging here.) Bought from Watson. I dont remember how much It’s S$14.90 for a box of 1012. The essence is generous so I usually let dearie use the 2nd round by dipping into the essence again. And it’s still pretty plentiful. It’s troublesome if I were to store in fridge and might be too rich to use twice at 1 go as it might develop milia seeds. The mask not only covers the area below the eyes, but also the stretch above the eyes(where you apply eye shadow). Great.

Time flies. It’s the 2nd Nov again.

It’s our 1 year anniversary!!! =)

Before I met dearie, I finally went Chapter 2 at Bugis to use the vouchers Hui gave me; free treatment and haircut. It’s time to trim off the hay-like ends and chee cheong fan fringe. Actually I intended to shop abit at Bugis Village but had no time. Jolin cut my hair and gave it a little layering too since it’s kinda flat. =P Overall, still pretty satisfied.

Dearie had almost forgotten our anniversary date. Oh am I surprised? God no. It’s expected. As I’m a VERY optimistic person and pretty good at 自我安慰 so I surfed around for some nice fine dining place. The French Kitchen it is. I meant to doll up myself abit for the occasion but lost interest looking at my telly tubby tummy. Hence, nothing much except….

I love this pair of glam heels. High enough(lol) and the steel heels. Cool! And it’s below $40 from Design & Comfort. Got it at a sale.

Dearie came to fetch me at Bugis and surprise!

It has been SO LONG since he last gave me a bouquet. =P However dear, next time can dont give carnations?

We ordered the Degustation menu which was a steal at $88++ and it includes an awful lots of things. We further ordered another entrée and a starter. Pretty much prefer to try different courses instead of ordering 2 similar sets.

They’re wonderful. I’m pretty surprised they gave this complimentary but rather charge $6 for the still water we had. =.=zzz

Soft poached hen’s egg en cocotte with artichoke bouillon and artisanal brioche

Despite it’s classy and long-until-cant-be-longer name, it’s basically a half-boiled egg lah! Albeit with prettier garnishings. Chef Charles is very nice to give 1 more complimentary.

Considering it’s only our 1st visit, it’s truly very surprising and especially warming when our French Chef himself strolled forward and greet us with warmth. Instead of the standard, frosty, “Good evening. I’m the chef. Please enjoy your food.”, he shaked our hands warmly before jokingly advised me to eat the food before it turned cold, because I was crazily taking pictures. Haha.

1 of the entrées, my favourite foie gras;
pan-seared duck liver with ragout of cep mushrooms and salsify

Awesome. Foie gras can never go wrong, except at M hotel. The portion is considered big. The reviews really were true.

Our ala-carte entrée; Char grilled fillet of quail with home-made tarragon gnocchi. fricassé of chanterelle mushrooms, summer truffle vinaigrette

It was truly a very “home-made” taste and the quail was soft and tender. Accompanied with the other side ingredients, it was rather filling.

Traditional lobster bisque with tiger prawn beignet and leek custard.

So cute! The green mini “panna-cotta” look-alike was actually leek custard! But nothing special. Haha. This is our least satisfied dish because of it’s super creamy and milk taste. I dislike the smell of milk and it’s overpowering till I cant taste any lobster flavour. =( The tiger prawns are tempura-style, kinda feel it mismatched with the soup’s taste.

The special starter for the day, not in menu; Pan-seared scallops with asparagus.

I think I saw such giant scallops somewhere but I’ve never seen such giant asparagus! The scallops were seared beautifully with a sauce which tasted pretty oriental to me. So yummy..I wish they gave more than 3. Lol.

We almost forget there’s a main course because we were already quite full.

Main course: classic duck leg confit with truffled ratte potatoe puree, sweet cherry and natural duck jus

This duck leg is wonderful, crispy duck skin with soft, tender meat, fully flavoured. Too bad by then I’m already very full and I only ate a little.

Dessert; choux pastry filled with tahitian vanilla icecream, warm chocolate sauce.

There came another surprise!

Yummy! Despite how full I was already, I managed to gorge some vanilla icecream down and ate a small bite of the chocolate brownie pastry(in the “Happy Anniversary”, beneath the strawberries mountain), because it’s the chef’s effort!

But I’m really too full…hence…haha….pushed all to dearie again. Initially I was curious how they knew about it. Then knew dearie indicated that when he online reserved the seatings. But it’s really so sweet and kind of them.

Total bill at $215, with no regrets for the food experience, wonderful and warm service. Will definitely go back again. =)

Happy 1 year anniversary Darling. I love you and will always will.

Had a fun but tiring JB trip yesterday with Kat and G. Jy would have come if she did not have a wedding to catch. Too bad. We could have ordered more seafood dishes. Lol.

The trip started with a near 1hour jam and kudos to the driver, Kat. When we’re finally in, we caught a simple late lunch at a simple HK cafe. The food was so-so. We ordered Nissin noodles and some dessert. G and Kat were really into taking pictures, not me when I’m looking so cui with almost no makeup. Really envy the 2 beauties who always look picture perfect. =)

Shopping took up 70% of the trip. Oh manz, they can get reallyyyy engrossed with shopping so much so it’s possible for them to stay 1 hour in one shop! Ahhhh….as I’m a pretty chop-chop-shopping kinda person, I got so bored loittering too far ahead because nothing interests me for that long. The longest I’ve stayed is the shop which sells discs. Hahaha.

G and I also did a full body thai massage. The prices were not exactly cheap(for JB) but with AMEX 25% discount, it was merely S$30+. SHiok! I bought many stuff too. 5 movies, a shawl, 3 tops and a mini pouch, just mini enough for phone and tissue when dearie and me go for supper. Haha.

We did the usual, like Kat pumping petrol and washing car. Had seafood dinner at some Lucky restaurant(the one I tried last time with SL and gang); kai-lan, salted fish crayfish and cereal prawns. I feel only the crayfish was nice while all of us agreed the prawns were not up to standard. Probably because they were too stingy with the cereals.

I reached home slightly later after midnight. Thanks to Kat who sent me home.

Looking forward to an even better seafood meal next time. =)

If you’re a crazy fan of HK TVB dramas, then you’ll know the 2 hottest shows now are 富贵门 and 宫心记. The former is a modern show with a story of a conman who impersonates as a rich man’s son while the latter is a story about the rivalry for the empire/emperor’s favoritism in the Tang dynasty. Both are on par with 10 episodes currently available on PIPI, not more not less. I can only alternate watching them to ease my impatience on their slow streaming. It’s only 1 episode in 1 and a half or 2 days. S-L-O-W.

I love 袁咏仪(Anita Yuen) in 富贵门! She looks so naturally gorgeous! Unlike Charmaine, whom I always think she always look abit weird weird when she smiles, like the whole set of teeth is…fake…well I dont know. She does looks quite different from last time. Anita is so full of character. Her acting was superb as she practically brings out the real 一心. Perhaps it’s very close to her own personality as well. Lol. Heard about the rumour about her husband Chilam with the main lead in 宫心记, 佘诗曼(Charmaine). It’s something about her “over-stepping the propriety” with Chilam and made Mrs Cheung mad.

Seriously I cant bring myself to have a liking for this girl, despite how pretty and sweet she might look. They say the negative rumours with half the guys in TVB are all because she’s too famous bla bla bla. Ridiculous. Over the years, how many females had took turns to become the 一姐 of TVB? 关咏荷? 邓翠雯? 陈松龄? 宣萱? Each and every one of them were as popular as her currently at their prime. But which one has SO MANY negative rumours like her? No one. I certainly dont think she’s the prettiest of the lot. What I do believe is her viles and her “teh(whining)” gong, reportedly so.

I was watching 1 episode of 铁甲无敌奖门人 hosted by 曾志伟, 钱嘉乐, 阮兆祥, 王祖蓝. There was 1 episode(CH01) which both Charmaine and Michael(苗桥伟) attended the game show. 阮兆祥 was the one who introduced their appearance and I was shocked to hear 阮兆祥 introduce Charmaine as, “外表斯斯文文, 但内心却很开放的佘诗曼!” I think it’s pretty obvious what he meant by this sentence and he had expressed himself eloquently how he view Miss Seh. Insiders sure knows more stuff than outsiders. If you’re not familiar with 阮兆祥, he’s the one who starred as the 舅舅 in 溏心风暴.

If she’s single and flirt with single guys and all are willing parties, it’s no big deal. But I despise females who thinks they’re so gorgeous and able to bring any man down their knees, lay their hands on married men, even when they’re not serious and merely playing.

Despite so, most of TVB’s big productions always include her and I always watch them with an indifference, only concentrating on her role in the show and not her real identity. Else I will just vomit.

Recalled one admission she made, saying she has many suitors now but not one of them are suitable for her. She wants one who wont interfere with her acting career but will always be available to accompany her when she’s spontaneously off from her work. Duhz. Why dont she just explicitly say she just want a rich man? Otherwise who can do that? You work let you work. You free then suddenly pop out accompany you. Duhz.

And I really buay tahan how she always like to brag she got many guys after her. ZzZz Of course we all know she got many guys after her la. Have you ever heard Michelle Reis or Maggie Q bragging about how many guys are after them? Oh duhz.

To be guilty ashamed, I was once a fan of Charmaine too, charmed by her sweet looks, who wouldnt? But after all these news about her, my view of her is so tainted. Initially, when the rumour about her snatching Niki Chow, 周丽淇’s bf, Kevin Cheng, 郑嘉颖(the b*stard who 2-timed) surfaced, she insisted they were only friends. NOW that she has just DUMPED him(he deserves it anyway), she admitted that they were together before but she was never a 3rd party. WTF? She thought the whole world are idiots.

When I was watching the 宫心记, with Charmaine and Kevin lovey dovey together, I really feel like vomiting..it’s like..duhz..I dont wish to say much…but they “suit” each other PERFECTLY la.

No offence to any of their fans though. It’s your choice to like them and it’s my choice to dislike them.

I never wish to openly show my distaste for her, like machiam wow it’s such a big thing. But I guess, while I was blogging about Anita, slowly it “accumulates”…from the one who attempted to seduce a pregnant’s wife’s husband to the one who broke up a 5years relationship by being the 3rd party. I guess some females are just pyscho by nature and need to do such stuffs to keep their self-confidence and happiness in check. 变态.

Comments: I think most were there for Megan Fox’s body, just like I did. Lol. I always think Vampire movies cant really go how badly, but was wrong. The whole show was so boring. Also be prepared for some disappointment as our foxy lady is not gorgeous for 50% of the show.

Ratings: 2.8/5
Comments: The plot was really weak, not that I mind as most gambling shows are anyway. The least I can hope for are some laughs but it really failed badly. Some parts are funny here and there but it was mostly monotonous. The romantic scenes arent romantic, the exciting scenes(when the last card was revealed) wasnt exciting. Lastly, I’m very disappointed with the acting of the cast. It’s like nobody is taking the film seriously, I cant even convince myself I’m actually watching a movie. For experienced actors like Liu Qing Yun, am pretty disappointed.

Just because they look so uber cute! =P

The Indulge Restaurant

Dont worry! It’s not the same Indulge as the one Xiaxue recommended because that one sucks big time! This Indulge Restaurant is located at B1 at The Cathay.
It’s our 3rd time there but unfortunately the standard has dropped due to a different chef on duty today instead of the main chef(cum boss) Kelvin. However, I will just upload the pictures taken on 1st visit for visual purposes and blogged the best experience out of the 3(which was the 1st visit though the 2nd was as well).

For all 3 visits, we ordered the Lobster Spaghetti Promotional set which includes the following items:

Appetizer: Crispy Prawn Tossed Garlic Mayo & Sunflower Seeds

Giant QQ prawns with a crispy skin, wonderful sauce, topped with crunchy, fragrant sunflower seeds. Yummy!

Soup: Chicken Herbal Soup

This soup is unlike any canned soups. We can literally taste all the herbal goodness and believed the soup will need at least few hours to boil. (However, it was a disappointment at our 3rd visit today because it was so bland that we asked for an exchange.)

Main Course: Lobster Spaghetti

It’s available in Aglio Olio, tomato base, cream base and sambal base(I think). We opted for Aglio Olio. At first, we really didnt really expect a full, big-ass lobster but it really came! Giant lobster was BBQ, QQ and yummy. (However for the 3rd visit today, it was again a disappointment. Lobster was small and overcooked so it’s tough. Spaghetti was in one dark colour and tasted like some Hokkien Mee!)

Dessert: Chocolate Icecream with Panna Cotta

The icecream tasted like it was from King’s. Great, always love it. Panna Cotta was so-so though.

Super worth it right? Though I think it’s better to make reservations when you’re sure Kelvin is the main chef preparing your food. Else it’s really unpredictable. =)
